Plans for the Overnight Challenge next month are now coming together and we can reveal details of something old making a return and something new we’re hoping to try for the first time. There’ll also be more activity bases than ever before.
There should be 16 main activity bases to complete during six hours out in the darkness of Sherwood Pines Forest Park on the weekend of the 10th and 11th May. Making a return after several events away will be the legendary Apex Challenge lawnmower racing. It’s always a favourite, so if you’re never had chance to try it now’s your chance.
We’re also hoping to have big changes in the way the event is scored. For the first time we’re planning to introduce a new electronic system for collecting your points. It’ll mean no more control cards and little orange clips. Instead you’ll carry a special token that you put into computerised boxes to record where you’ve been.
It should mean we can tell you in far more detail where you’ve been and when, and how fast you’ve managed to navigate your way around.
Don’t miss out on your chance to take part. Teams are already entering from across the UK and the sooner your place is confirmed, the better start time you’ll have at the event. Entry is in teams of four and works out at just £10 per person for a team of four, including all food, camp fees and activities – meaning it’s great value to take part.
Check out the event details for more information, then gather together your team of four and enter online before the event fills up. You won’t be disappointed!
